Juandre Kruger returns to the Bulls for the 2010 Currie Cup.

Kruger played for Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch and is a product of the Western Cape. However the 24 year old Kruger played 19 matches for the Blue Bulls in 2008, and is leaving Northampton Saints to return back to Loftus.

He will arrive in June 2010 and has been signed on a 3 year contract.

Kruger told the Bulls website how excited he is to be returning, and would not want to be playing for anyone else despite enjoying his stint with Northampton. “The coaching staff, the management team, the facilities and the whole culture at Loftus is every rugby player’s dream and I am very excited about my second spell with the Bulls” said Kruger.

“What I have experienced at the Bulls in 2008 is something that I do not want to exchange for anything. I would like to make a substantial contribution to the Bulls when I arrive in June and ultimately I want to represent South Africa” Kruger continued.

Whilst the Bulls boast the world’s premier lock pairing in Victor Matfield and Bakkies Botha, they are establishing real depth at lock with Kruger, Danie Rousouw, Wilhelm Steenkamp, Fudge Mabeta and Flip van der Merwe in the ranks.

The Bulls have the luxury of a plethora of talent, and it should allow Matfield and Botha the chance to enjoy some rest during the season, looking ahead to the Rugby World Cup in 2011.

For the Bulls it ensures there is plenty of competition and less likelihood of being disrupted by injuries. It also says a lot about the Bulls that so many top players want to come and play at Loftus and are prepared to share playing time to do so.
